Henry S. Baer, 84 of 4848 Molly Pitcher Highway, Chambersburg, died at 8:35 p.m. Friday, May 5, in Menno Haven Nursing Home, Chambersburg.

Born Sept 27, 1904 in Clear Spring, Md., he was a son of the late Abram H. and Lizzie (Shank) Baer.

He was a member of the Heidelberg United Church of Christ, Marion.

Baer was a farmer in the Marion area for 47 years, retiring in 1966.

He was a charter member of the Marion Volunteer Fire Co.

He is survived by his wife, May C. (Hess) Baer, three sons, Henry R. Baer and Lowell S. Baer, both of Chambersburg, and Leon R. Baer of Greencastle; two grandchildren, one great grandson, five step grandchildren, 11 step great grandchildren and one step great great granddaughter, five brothers, Irvin Baer of Hagerstown, Melvin Baer and Abram Baer, both of Maugansville, Md., and Alvey Baer and Leonard Baer both of Chambersburg; and two sisters, Bertha Martin of Hagerstown, and Ida Schlee of Maugansville.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Heidelberg United Church of Christ with the Revs Robert Morrison and Darrell Baer officiating. Burial will be in Marion Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Minnich-Miller May Funeral Home, Greencastle and at the church one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorials may be made to the Heidelberg United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 247, Marion, Pa 17235 or the Marion Volunteer Fire Co., P. O. Box 68, Marion Pa, 17235.
