SKETCH:
Clarissa ( b. Feb. 18, 1803-Litchfield, Litchfield, CT) is the 7th child & 2nd dau. of the 10 children of Olive Dayton & William Munson, Jr. She & Eli married most probably in NY in 1824 before coming to Huntsburg, Geauga Co., OH Whether their families came together at the same time is unknown. Unfortunately, almost nothing is known at this time about her, specifically.

Clarissa and Eli had the following children:
Clarinda S, b. May 11, 1825
Sarah Elizabeth, b. Aug. 30, 1827
John L. (he changed it to John C.), b. Feb. 10, 1831
Olivia A., b. Jul. 30, 1835
Ezra W., b. Dec. 10, 1841
Henrietta (Harriet) Celestine, b. Oct. 3, 1848

She died on June 18, 1859 at the age of 56 and is buried in the N. Madison cemetery on State Rt.528.

We do know, thanks to Lila Lee Nichols Jones, that the family of Clarissa B. Munson celebrated their 350th anniversary in America in 1987. Thomas Munson and other ancestors were the founders of New Haven, CT. Peter Bulkeley, ancestor, was among one of the prominent early ministers there as well. Many of Clarissa's ancestors fought in the numerous colonial Indian and French wars. Her father reportedly fought in the Rev. War as well as the French & Indian War.

Further, some of these ancestors left a comfortable life of ease and fortune in Great Britain in order to worship freely in America. More than a few descended from European royal families (ex. Charlemagne). Many of them were talented musicians and teachers. (Submitted by Lila Lee Nichols Jones).
