Funeral services for Harry C. Gassman, 83, of Hutchinson, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 21, from Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
Mr. Gassman died on Sunday, June 17, 2012, at his home in Hutchinson.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, and from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., Thursday, at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.

Funeral services for Harry C. Gassman, 83, of Hutchinson, were held Thursday, June 21, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, the Rev. Gerhard Bode officiating.
Mr. Gassman died Sunday, June 17, 2012, at his home in Hutchinson.
The organist was Paul Otte. The eulogy was given by Linda Strand. Soloist Deb Stueven sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "In the Garden."
Honorary pallbearers were Gordon Bauer, Roger Krantz, Don Padrnos and Datlaf Weseloh. Active pallbearers were Jim Hughes, Mike Gassman, Ernie Gassman, David Gassman, Steve Schumache and Eric Schumache. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Mr. Gassman was born March 1, 1929, in rural Hector, to Ernest and Nellie (Rice) Gassman. He was baptized and confirmed in his faith May 10, 1955, at Grace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. He received his education in Hutchinson.
Mr. Gassman entered active military service in the U.S. Army on Jan. 10, 1947, and served his country during peace time in Panama. He received an honorable discharge on May 19, 1948.
On Jan. 7, 1951, Mr. Gassman was united in marriage to Norma Hahn by the Rev. Arthur Koehler at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with three children, Jerry, Linda and Sandy. The family resided in Hutchinson. They shared 57 years of marriage before Mrs. Gassman died on Feb. 23, 2008.
Mr. Gassman was employed with (Bud) Reinert Construction and at Stearnswood Lumber in Hutchinson. He formed Gassman Construction in 1976 and retired in 1993 after 17 successful years in business.
Mr. Gassman was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. He also was a member of the Men's Breakfast Club.
Mr. Gassman enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening and bean bag toss. He especially cherished the time he spent with his family, grandchildren and wonderful friends.
Survivors include his children, Jerry (Bonnie) Gassman of Hutchinson, Linda Strand and her husband, Peter Morley, of Maple Plain, and Sandy (Kenny) Ohlsson of Maple Plain; grandchildren, Beth Gassman, Kris Gassman, Georgia Morley, Sheila Leinen, Daron Walter, Cheryl Pipke, and Karesa Currie; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Ardell Anderson, Pat Vlcek, Donna Roy, Lorelei Hughes, and Helen Whitfield; brothers, David Gassman, Ernie Gassman, Duane Gassman, and Mike Gassman; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ernest and Nellie Gassman; and wife, Norma Gassman.
