She married Matthew Richards, son of Edward Richards and Mary Head who had settled land that would become Hampstead Maryland, in old Baltimore County [present Carroll County].
HISTORICAL NOTE:
Frederick County was created in 1748 from portions of old Cecil County and old Baltimore County.
Matthew had removed into Frederick County with his brothers Daniel and Stephen, and each had married one of Cornelius Carmack's daughters.
I do not know the names of their children, who appear to number six; but one may have been Moses. His name appears in the will of Edward Richards, Matthew's father. The will reads,
"To grandson Moses Richards: a red two-year old heifer."
and
"The residue of my personal estate is to be turned into money, to be equally divided among my sons Benjamin, Stephen, Daniel, & Richard Richards, & Matthew Richards' children shall have ½ share to be put into the hands of Stephen Richards." from Edward Richards' will
Her husband Matthew suffered much in his health, and died in 1751 at age 40. Maria herself only lived to be 48.
I have not documented Mary's burial lot. I have assumed she was laid to rest with Matthew.
