His parents; wife; a son, Donald Evans; sister, Phyllis Evans Bollinger; son-in-law, Tom Geuy; father- and mother-in-law, William Clarence Hines and Iva Francis Nichols Hines, all preceded him in death.
He is survived by four children, Fred Dean (Janet) Evans of St Paris, Sue Ann Geuy of Rosewood, Robert (Becky) Evans of Conover and Nancy (David) Roach of Huber Heights; 11 grandchildren, Brandon Evans, Gaylyn Diehl, Amanda Evans, Justin Evans, Michelle Bashore, Lynette Hageman, Ryan Geuy, Chris Batdorf, Jared Evans, Jennifer Vincent and Aaron Vincent; and six great-grandchildren, Alison Evans, Carter Evans, Davin Jordan, McKalia Hageman, Logan Bashore and Carmen Geuy.
Herman was a 1938 graduate of Rosewood High School. He was a member of Northtowne Church of God in Sidney.
Engaged in farming all of his life, Herman also served on the Johnson Twp Zoning Board, Mt Pleasant bowling team, Toastmasters and he was a member of Gideon's International.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Thursday in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S Springfield St, St Paris, with the Rev Merle Laws presiding. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
