Gerald Ammons, 73, of Mannington, died early Monday morning Sept. 17, 1990 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 26th, 1917 at Daybrook, a son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Henderson Ammons.
He is survived by his wife, Ulah Wetzel Ammons, to whom he was married for 50 years; one daughter, Mary Jean Cyphers of Mannington; one daughter-in-law, Sarah Ammons of Vienna; three sisters, Ellen Stephenson of Washington, Pa., Mrs. Edward (Betty) Helmick of Astatula, Florida andd Mrs. Frank (Ruby) Miller of LaVale, Md; two grandchildren, Amy Comin and Franklin Cyphers; and one great grandson.
He was preceded in death by one son, Bruce D. Ammons.
He was a retired mail carrier, with 33 years of service. He was a member and Trustee of the Buffalo United Methodist Church. He was a life member of the Mountaineer Beagle Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during World War II. Burial was made in the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
