"Pioneer of Steuben Township Passes Away - Alfred Curtis Hunt Dies Suddenly at Home Near Tryonville Early Yesterday - Alfred Curtis Hunt, in his 83rd year, died suddenly at 4:45 am yesterday at his home, RD 4, Centerville, in the vicinity of Tryonville, following a brief illness. Mr Hunt had been in his usual health until during Tuesday night when he became ill and passed away before a physician could be summoned. Mr Hunt was born at Whitehall, NY, on August 7, 1845, and for sixty years had lived on the farm where he died. In the Civil war he served with Company B, 12th Pennsylvania cavalry, and he was a member of Chase post GAR, Titusville. He enjoyed a large acquaintance and was held in high esteem. Mr Hunt had been married three times, his last wife passing away about nine years ago. He is survived by the following children: Mrs Grant Danforth of Cambridge Springs, Mrs Peter Decker, Mrs Roy Looker, Mrs Clara Lewis and J W Hunt of Titusville, Mrs Harry Kent of Oil City, Mrs Raymond Howell of Jamestown, NY, and Norris Hunt residing at home. There are nineteen grandchildren. Funeral services in memory of Mr Hunt will be conducted from the Tryonville United Brethern church, Rev B C Himes, pastor, officiating, Friday morning at 11 o'clock, and the interment will be made in the Tryonville cemetery."
