She was the daughter of Edward Scudder Hart & Nancy Ann (Stout) Hart. She was a granddaugher of John Hart, Signer of the Declaration of Independence. Her lineage has been documented through Daughers of the American Revolution and Colonial Dames of the 17th Century. Her picture appears in the book John Hart The Biography of a Signer of the Declaration of Independence by Cleon E. Hammond, 1977.
