Former veterinarian and manufacturer in Delphi, J. Marcus Haggard, 58, of Rt. 6, Lot 3, Westbrook Manor, Muncie 47302, died of a heart attack Sunday, July 18,1982, while enroute to a meeting in New York.

He was a native of Altamont, Kansas, the son of Arthur and Jessie Haggard. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Kansas State University of Manhattan.

He was married in Kansas to the former Rachel Gossard.

Dr. Haggard was a veterinarian in Young America and Delphi for several years and also was a cofounder of Delphi Products Co., Inc., manufacturer of Ranger Livestock Equipment. When the company was purchased by A. O. Smith-Harvestore, he was a consultant with the firm and conducted sales meetings throughout the United States. In 1970, he purchased the Animal Medical Center at Yorktown and operated it along with a Christian ministering group
known as "The Branches” that was featured recently on a TV series in Muncie.

Surviving with the wife are four sons, John Julien of Bluffton, Ohio, Daniel Marc of Pine Hill Indian Reservation, New Mexico, Timothy Taylor of Muncie and Ted
Arthur of Baton Rouge, La.; two daughters, Mary Lois and Rachel Ann, at home; and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call today, Wednesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Richman Funeral Home in Yorktown. Burial will be in Altamont, Kansas, at 2 p.m. Friday.
