Curtis Deroy Turner, 88, of Danville, died June 16, 2002, at Riverside Health Care Center. Born April 18, 1914, in Danville, he was the son of Otis Lambert Turner Sr. and Dora Hughes Turner. He was married April 18, 1936, to Avo Cates Turner, who survives. He retired from the city of Danville where he worked in maintenance. He attended the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors also include two sons, Garnett L. Turner and Rodger D. Turner; a daughter, Joyce Perkins Gibbs; two sisters, Sadie Corn and Lottie Samuels; four grandchildren.
He was predeceased by one brother, Otis L. "Billy" Turner Jr. and two sisters, Dorothy Allen and Geraldine Hill.
Burial will be at Danville Memorial Gardens.
