Robert Lee "Abe" Goodwin passed away June 12, 2012 in the Veterans Hospital in Muskogee, OK. He served in the US Army in Japan during World War II and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 8316. He worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers and also volunteered with the Sawyer Fire Department.
Abe Goodwin was born January 8, 1927 in Fort Towson, OK, the son of Robert B. Goodwin and Liza Ester (Stice) Goodwin. He married Earie Ludener Priddy on March 29, 1947 in Hugo, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Delmer Goodwin and Leroy Goodwin; four sisters, Enever Hawthorne, Opaline Bacon, Marie Crook and Vereda Benson; one daughter, Glenda June Marshal along with two grandsons.
Survivors Include: wife, Earie Goodwin; daughter, Linda Oakes and husband Ernest of Sawyer, OK; three sons, Bob Goodwin and wife Gwen of Sawyer, OK, Glenn Goodwin and wife Cindy of Dallas, TX and Dennis Goodwin and wife Mary of Oklahoma City, OK; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
