Nancy Ammons Watts Locklear went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 22, 2013.
She was born January 5, 1928 in Macon County to the late Alex and Margaret Ann Leatherman Ammons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Freeman Watts and four children, son Sherrill Watts, daughters, Sharon Watts Jacobs Pugh, and infant daughters, Sheila & Rhonda, her brother, Edison Ammons, and her sisters, Ruby Rogers, Emma Ray, Hazel Dills and Sarah Beale. Those that will forever cherish her memory are her surviving daughter, Dawn Watts Teem of Winston Salem, NC, Grandchildren she loved dearly, Zach & Tiffany Teem and Great-Granddaughter Hayven Teem.
A mountain girl when she married Freeman Watts on July 20, 1950 and moved from the Ellijay community to Bakersfield, CA and from there she continued to follow him during his Army career. Moving many times to different States and overseas. She devoted her life to her family and helping others.
The family will receive friends from 7P-9P, Friday, December 27, 2013 at Macon Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held a 1PM, Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Macon Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend, Alton Dendy officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery at Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be her beloved nephews, Ronnie Beale, Ritchie Beale, Harold Ammons, Gary Dills, Randall Dills and Great Nephew, Joey Cole.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
