"Long time Fallon resident Geneva Jessie Keefer passed away Nov. 4, 2004 at her home. Geneva was born March 16, 1922 to Orval F. Sr. and Dora O. Fowler in Crosbyton, Texas. The family moved to Fallon when Geneva was a young girl, and she graduated from Churchill County High School. In her younger years, Geneva had several jobs. She worked as a truck driver hauling hay, she drove a school bus for Churchill County School District and she worked as a bookkeeper for JC Penney. She was a homemaker and liked taking care of everyone. The holidays were always at her house and she loved cooking for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Luther, sister Beatrice and her husband of more than 50 years, Jacob F. Keefer. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Melinda and David Clifton, son and daughter-in-law Ray and Debra Bullock, grandchildren Becky, Lacie, Cody and Monty, and brother Orval 'Sonny' Fowler, all of Fallon; sisters Edna Penola of Battle Mountain, L Nora Weaver of Gardnerville, Nena Casper of Oregon and Bonnie Nance, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Churchill County Library or the Churchill County Museum. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 10 at noon with a graveside service at 1 p.m. at the Churchill County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Gardens Funeral Home, 423-8928."
