On Feb. 15, 1961, Sabena Flight #548, en route to Brussels, Belgium, from New York City, crashed on approach to Brussels' Zaventem Airport. All eighteen members of the 1961 U. S. Figure Skating Team were killed, along with everyone else on board the flight.
Daurice was an airline stewardess taking her first vacation on board this flight. The stone in Harris, TX, was placed by her mother in the family plot. The memorial shown at left is located in Brussls.
