Keith M. O’Connell, age 57 of 511 Madison Street, Reedsville, died unexpectedly
Saturday morning, July 14, 2001 at Langlade Memorial Hospital in Antigo.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2001 at the Holy
Family Parish in Reedsville. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be
the Rev. Tom Long, with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Military graveside
rites will be accorded.
Keith was born May 29, 1944 in Reedsville, son of the late Clifton and Athlyn
Doolan O’Connell. He attended St. Marys Catholic grade school and Reedsville High
School, graduating with the class of 1962. He served with the U.S. Army from
Sept. 14, 1962 until Sept. 14, 1965. On May 16, 1970, he was married to Bonnie
Loose at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Reedsville.
Keith was employed for 32 years as a truck driver with the Manitowoc County Highway
Department, and later worked for Lorrigan Construction of Reedsville, until his
retirement. He was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Reedsville
Sportsman’s Club, Chelsea Conservation Club of Chelsea, WI, and the Reedsville
Fire Department for 21 years. He was also a member of the Reeedsville Amvets,
where he served as past commander. Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing, bathing and
socializing.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, one son Michael O’Connell and special friend
Cammie Benter of Reedsville, two daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie and Scott Towne
of Kimberly, Kathy and Wade Kasper of Reedsville. Two Grandsons, Riley and Landon
Kasper, and two step granddaughters, Nicole and Natalie Towne. His father-in-law
and mother-in-law, Wilmer and Lucinda Loose of Chilton; one brother and sister-in-
law, Joel and Ann O’Connell of Two Rivers; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Reyne
and Jim Schepper, Two Rivers, and Cheryl and Frank Wilson, San Diego, Calif.
He is further survived by brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Bev. and Jim Tienor,
Reedsville, Barb and Norb Kratz, Brillion, Grace and James Ott, Valders, Gordon
and Jane Loose, Chilton, and Glenn Loose, Manitowoc. Many nieces, nephews, aunts,
uncles, other relatives and many friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Relatives and friends may call at Holy Family Parish in Reedsville, from 5 to 9 p.m.
on Tuesday, and also on Wednesday after 9 a.m. until the time of mass at 10 a.m. A
parish prayer service will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, led by Fr. Tom.
Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, is assisting the O’Connell family with
funeral arrangements.
The family extends a very special Thank You to Bev and Jim Tienor, for their love
and support, and being with them during Keith’s final hours. Keith was a special
husband, father, and papa, and friend to many people and will be deeply missed.
