Daniel N. Harnish, son of Abram and Anna Elizabeth (Neff) Harnish, was born at Waterstreet, Huntingdon Co., PA on
4 July 1856*; educated at Mercersburg College and the Theological Seminary at Lancaster, PA; licensed May 1883 by Mercersburg Classis; ordained in Sept 1883 by Clarion Classis. Pastorates: South Bend charge, 3 years and 3 mos, Butler, PA charge for 28 years; elected president of the Pittsburgh synod at Evans City, PA in 1900. Retired from the ministry on account of catarrhal trouble and now living at San Gabriel, Calif. Married 4 June 1891 to Miss Mary Augusta Prugh; Two children: C. Prugh Harnish and Charlotte G. To the left of Rev. Harnish is buried his wife, Mary Prugh Harnish. To his right is buried Joseph Wesley Ellis. They are buried in the Prugh-Harnish-Sands family plot. Mary's brother, William Prugh and sister, Grace Prugh Sands are also buried there
