Born in Elizabeth City, NC, he was the son of the late Leroy and Minnie Whitson Duncan and was the husband of Garnett Creef Duncan. In his early years, Mr. Duncan was a steel worker. He worked alongside his brother Otis in Virginia and North Carolina constructing steel buildings. Later, Mr. Duncan had worked as a mobile home mover for Haskett Mobile Homes and then lastly for Forbes Mobile Homes as a serviceman. He was most proud of his involvement with the All-Volunteer Pasquotank County Rescue Squad and spoke of his experiences with them often.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Duncan is survived by a daughter, Karen Duncan Price and husband James of Elizabeth City, NC; two sons, Steve Duncan and wife Janet of Durants Neck, NC and Kevin Duncan and fiancé Teresa Keesee of Chesapeake; a sister, Glenda White of Elizabeth City, NC; a brother, Otis Duncan of Fredericksburg, VA; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lindsey Duncan; a sister, Lorraine Peffers; and a grandson, Lindsey E. Duncan, Jr.
