George Hill was born October 17, 1847, in South Carolina and died august 30, 1914. He was the son of Alpenzo Hill also born in South Carolina. George married Fannie M. Lacy on December 1, 1887, in Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas. George and Fannie both were slaves of Thomas Lacy. George died in Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas. George was also a teacher at the Colony School District 35 in Crawford county, Arkansas. It is believed that George was a USCT (United States Colored Troop Union soldier). His Arkansas Death Certificate documents his birth and father.
