Den­nis Alan Allred (Yale Class of ’66) was born on July 21, 1944 in Mel­rose Park, Illi­nois. He attended West Ley­den High School in Northlake, Illinois, and Cas­tro Val­ley High School in Castro Valley, California. At Yale, he was a mem­ber of Saybrook Col­lege, the Yale Political Union, Dwight Hall, and the Pi Sigma Alpha fra­ter­nity. He also belonged to More House, the Catholic stu­dent cen­ter, where he coor­di­nated the St. Mary’s High School Tutoring Pro­ject. He received his BA in political science in 1966 and went on to receive the degree of mas­ter of pub­lic admin­is­tra­tion from the Woodrow Wil­son School at Prince­ton Uni­ver­sity in 1968.

He went to work for the U.S. State Department’s Information Agency, which took him to posts in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Santiago, Chile. He moved to Chicago in 1973 before head­ing to Cal­i­for­nia, where he taught his­tory, U.S. gov­ern­ment, and eco­nom­ics.

Miss Susan Fischer and Dennis Alan Allred were married Monday (April 1971) in Rio de Janeiro. District Judge Renato Tonini performed the civil ceremony at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Al bertal, friends of the couple.

Dennis is assistant cultural officer at the United States Embassy in Rio de Janeiro and Mr. Albertal is delegate of the United Nations Development Program in Brazil.

Mrs. Allred, daughter of Bob Fischer of New York and Mrs. Bob Fischer of Oceanside, L. I., is studying Brazilian literature under a Fulbright Scholarship at Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro. Her father is president of BF Representatives, Inc., artists's representatives in New York.

Dennis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Allred of River Forest, Ill. His father is president of Midway Engineering of Chicago and a director of production of Tek‐Pro, a subsidiary of the American Hospital Company.

Mrs. Allred was graduated last year from Mount Holyoke College. She spent her junior year at the University of Madrid.

Dennis, a 1966 cum laude graduate of Yale, received a master's degree in economic development in 1968 from Princeton University.

Dennis died on Feb­ru­ary 23, 1990.
