Clarence Ashcraft Sr.

Clarence E. Ashcraft Sr., 68, Spring Hill, Kan., died on Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Merriam, Kan.

Mr. Ashcraft was born on June 21, 1931, in Mosby, Mo. He had also lived in Kansas City, Kan. Most recently, he was an over-the-road truck driver before he retired in 1991. He was a member of Mosby Baptist Church in Mosby, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James R. and Mattie L. Wallace Ashcraft; five sisters; and seven brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. Elliott Ashcraft, of the home; one son, Clarence E. Ashcraft Jr., Council Bluffs, Iowa; three daughters, Julie A. Ashcraft, Rebecca S. Ashcraft, and Cheryl L. Yanez, all of Spring Hill, Kan; three sisters, Ruth A. Akins, Ottumwa, Iowa, Vera Fern Dagley, Excelsior Springs, and Norma J. Kessell, Lenexa, Kan.; and six grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, at Bruce Funeral Home in Gardner, Kan.; cremation. No visitation was planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
