Per the 1920 Fed. Census, Painesville Lake, OH, John (æ 6y) Hilston was the son of Albert & Edney Hilston(e). His father was born c. 1882 -OH, and his mother was born c. 1899 in Finland. John was born in OH and had 2 younger siblings in 1920; William A. A. (3y) & Martin D. (11 mos).

In 1930 the John A.(æ 16y) & his family were living on Seventh St. in Fairport Harbor, Lake, OH a reknown Hungarian & Finish community. He has 2 more brothers; Ramand H. L. Hilston (8y) & Maldon D. (5y.)

Death info for John's brother William A. Hilston further relays that John's parents were Juho Albert Hilston (1891-1957) & Edla Sofia Autio.
