A graduate of Sumter High School in the class of 1915 (https://www.edmundshigh.com/alumni.html?x=info&c=15), she was long-time organist at First Baptist Church in Sumter and taught private piano lessons in Sumter for many years. She and Jim did not have any children, but they were beloved Aunt & Uncle to many nieces and nephews! She was the grand daughter of CSA Lt. Col. T. V. Walsh. The original Irish immigrant (born in Limerick...South-western Ireland) to the USA (1790) for her surname was Dr. John Walsh, her great-great grandfather, a surgeon.
