Franklin Pierce Brent, instructor at Christ Church School, in Middlesex County VA. died at Waverly VA, where he and his family was attending a family reunion.
In his early life he taught at Norwood School in Nelson County. Among those who studied under him there was William Cabell Brown, afterward Episcopal Bishop of VA, who died in London recently. Franklin was noted as a Greek schloar and numbered the late Dr. Basil L. Gildersleeve, long professor of Greek at Johns Hopkins University, among his intimate friends.
Besides a widow, Mrs. Martha Porter Brent, he is survived by two sons, Franklin Pierce Brent Jr. and John P. Brent both of NY. and two daughters, Mrs. R. A. Savedge and Miss Helen Brent of Dendron, VA.
