Norma Schreiner Foote, 88, passed away June 28, 2004 in Boulder, Colo. Funeral services held Saturday, July 3 at Wasatch Gardens Mortuary Chapel , 3401 Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, Ut. She was born June 8, 1916 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the fifth child of John Christian and Margarethe Schwemmer Schreiner. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A former resident of Moab, she was employed as an executive secretary at Uranium Reduction Co., later sold to Atlas Minerals. A graduate of South High School, she also graduated from LDS Business College and later earned her Certified Professional Secretary certificate. She spent her professional career as a legal secretary. Born into a musical family, she began studying piano at about age six and cello at age eight. She was a member of the McCune School of Music Symphony Orchestra, sang in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and, over the years, other chamber groups and choirs. She married Ellis Foote May 20, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Sept. 8, 1991. A lifelong needleworker, she enjoyed many hand crafts. Norma was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a daughter, Andrea, and her siblings, Alexander Schreiner, Hilda Stringham, Bill Schreiner and Emma Stringham Lambert. She is survived by three daughters, and a son, ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
