Mrs. Barbara J. Allen
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Nappanee Church of the Brethren for Mrs. Barbara J. Allen, 44, 68859 C.R. 3, Nappanee, who died at 2:01 a.m. Saturday at Elkhart General Hospital, where she had been a patient two days. She had been ill six weeks.
She was born Dec. 27, 1940 in Sturgis, Mich., the daughter of Seth and Della (Bronstetter) Brown. She had lived in the Nappanee area for 15 years.
She was employed at Greencroft Nursing Center, Goshen.
She is survived by her mother; six daughters, Mrs. Diane K. Gibson, Miss Nancy Ely, Miss Elizabeth Ely, and Mrs. Carolyn Nichole Allen, all of Nappanee, Mrs. Terry (Deloris) Stump of Wakarusa and Miss Denise Ely of Elkhart; four sons, Raymond Ely, Jim Ely, and David Ely all of Wakarusa; two sisters, Mrs. Howard (Ann) Ely and Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Pierce, both of Three Rivers, Mich.; one brother, Richard Brown of Centerville, Mich., and two grandchildren.
The Rev. Rich Blumenberg of Midtown Church of God, Elkhart officiated with burial following at South Union Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Midtown Church of God building fund. Thompson & Yoder Funeral Home of Nappanee was in charge of arrangements.
