Jerry Cordle, age 87, of Maysville, Kentucky, went home to be with his Lord on May 21, 2012, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, in Maysville. He was born May 14, 1925. He was a World War II veteran, who served on D-Day and was a Purple Heart recipient. Jerry was employed by Federal Glass, in Columbus, Ohio, for 36 years. He was a member of Germantown Baptist Church.

Jerry was preceded in death by: four brothers, Abraham Cordle, Jason Cordle, Jack Cordle and Wesley Cordle; two sisters, Ethel and Tilda; his late wife, Elsie Cordle; a grandson, Kenneth Scott Cordle; and a great-great-granddaughter, Adalyn. He is survived by: his wife, Myrl Cordle; three children, Penelope Christian, of DeMott, Indiana, David Cordle, of Columbus, Ohio, and Jerry Michael (Carol) Cordle, of Bedford, Virginia; five grandchildren, Tim Christian, Susan Lynette Brake, Stephenie Niewoehner, David "Tony" Cordle and Michael Cordle; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Esther Liming and Mildred Chafin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at Germantown Baptist Church. Mr. Cordle will lie in state from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home, in Germantown. Burial will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Germantown Baptist Church.
