George H. Thiesfeld died Thursday, January 13, 1955, in his home, one-half mile south of Sterling. He had been in failing health, cause of death cancer.
Born Jan. 7, 1896, to the late Rudolph and Eliza (Granemann) Thiesfeld of Sterling, married Hilda Dorsch on Feb. 23, 1929, one son born. He engaged in farming south of Sterling, having lived in Burr before marriage. With the Lutheran Church all his life.
Survivors include his wife, the son, Arlan [sic. s/b Arlyn James] of Lincoln; a granddaughter; brother and sisters, Henry of Lincoln, Louis, Reinhold, Hulda and R. W. Thiesfeld of Sterling, Alma Lowery of Spickard, MO, Rose Zahn of Syracuse and Lydia Eggert of Douglas.
Services were held Sunday in the St. John's Lutheran church at Sterling, burial in Sterling Cemetery.
