Born to Sarah May Muma and John Francis Atkinson at Hale Michigan on May 10, 1924. She was the 3rd youngest of 17 children; and was the last to survive of her siblings. She would marry George Garland Stokes on August 1, 1942, and have 7 children of her own.
She loved life. Believing in God; going to church all of her life, and rarely missing a Sunday service. She would live to see 20 grandchildren 53 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren

She was diagnosed with dementia in 2004, and suffered numerous strokes and other seizures. From 2010 on, she would be placed in 3 different Adult nursing care facilities, until the time of her death on January 29, 2012 at Goodrich Hospice, Goodrich, MI.

The family has a DVD memorial tribute available to any extended family member or close friend that would like a copy. Simply contact Ronald Stokes for details!
