Earl C. Worcester was one of twelve children,born 4 Jun 1842, to Almond and Emeline Eliza (Steele) Worcester.

He enlisted on 20 May 1861 into Company F, Second Regiment of the Vermont Infantry as Private. He served with his brother Hartwell as an ambulance driver at Fort Stevens Hospital in Washington, D.C. He was injured and suffered from many wounds. He applied for a military pension on 11 Feb 1868 from Montpelier, Vermont. These records indicate that he suffered from typhoid fever and tuberculosis.

There is a stone marker in the family grave site in East Warren, Vermont for him, but it is believed he was buried elsewhere. He mustered out as Private.
