"The Father of Route 66"

He was a Tulsa business man who was a major promoter of the construction of Route 66. Son of Alexander James and Ruie Stevens Avery. Avery Drive in Tulsa was named for him. Rose Hill Cemetery is on Admiral Pl, a former segment Route 66.
