Courtney Brooke Dugas, 25, of Murrells Inlet, SC, formerly of Keyser, WV, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 23, 2004 at her residence.

Born on September 4, 1978 at Cumberland, MD, she was a daughter of Bill L. Dugas and his wife Mary of Fort Ashby, WV and Rebecca E. (Nesbit) Dugas of Keyser. Courtney was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Bill and Stella Dugas and her maternal grandparents, Bill and Doris Nesbit.

Courtney was a 1996 graduate of Keyser High School, where she was a proficient French horn player with the high school band. Baptized into the Catholic faith, she also attended the Dawson United Methodist Church, Rawlings, MD. Courtney found her place in life as a joyful, loving mother and held a special place in the hearts of her family and friends as their “free spirit.”

Surviving, in addition to her parents is her loving fiancée, Tallon Mills; her five month old gift from God, her daughter, Anyssa Elizabeth Mills; one brother, Ryan T. Dugas of Keyser; one sister, Melinda C. “Mindy” Dugas of Martinsburg, WV; two step-brothers, Kristian Brode of Tampa, FL and Ryan Brode and wife Angela of Winchester, VA; her step-grandmother, Betty “Granny” Hafer of Bedford, PA; a special great uncle and aunt, Don and Charlotte Hott of Keyser, several other aunts, uncles and cousins and her best friend, Amanda (Shank) Mobley of Myrtle Beach, SC.
