He was the son of the late John H. Murry, M.D. and Virginia Hill Murry.
A graduate of Greenbrier Military Academy and the University of Baltimore, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam conflict, earning the rank of staff sergeant. He worked for the Department of Defense as a research analyst, for 35 years.
He was a lifetime member of the Professional Golfers Association, a member of the American Legion Post #0121, and a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association. He was also a volunteer with the Department of Aging in Gettysburg. He professed the Methodist faith.
He was the husband of Jeanne Galloway Murry for the past 33 years and, in addition to her, is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Armstrong of Fairfield; three sons, A. Edward Murry of Pittsburgh, Benjamin Murry of Devil Hills, NC, and Jarrod Murry of Dayton, OH, and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, John H. Murry III and a sister, Judith Murry.
Interment was with full military honors.
