She was a homemaker and had lived in Pittsylvania County and Danville her entire life. She was a 1939 graduate of Callands High School. She was a member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling on bus tours.
On March 3, 1951 she married Walter Issac Mills, who died on January 22, 1995.
She is survived by sister-in-law Linda Wells and a number of nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by father Peter Thomas Wells and mother Nannie Palmer Wells. She is also predeceased by five brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services were conducted by Reverend Jeff Wright at the Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home, Westover Chapel.
Burial was in Highland Burial Park in Danville.
