Denia Viola Walker was born March 16, 1883 to July Walker in Haralson County, Georgia. Viola's mother July was born a slave in February 1846 and in 1900 had birthed thirteen children. Unfortunately, only nine lived. In the same year July was a widow, three children were living with her, son Walter born in 1880, son William born in 1881 and Viola. Judy and her sons were working on a farm.
Viola became Edward's wife after the transition of his first wife Elizabeth (Lizzie) Vaughn
on June 4, 1914.
Ed and Viola were parents to four; James 1919, Leslie 1921, Coralu 1923, Raymond 1925.
Viola transitioned at seventy-eight on April 18, 1962. Her service was held on Sunday, April 22nd at 2:30pm at Griffin Chapel Methodist Church in Temple. Rev W. B. Burton and Rev. E. G. Hinton officiated. Viola was laid to rest by Royal Funeral Home at Asbury Cemetery in Carrollton. At the time of her transition, she was grandmother to thirty-five and great grandmother to twelve.
