Ariel married second Mrs. Emma (Baldwin) Parker in 1850, in Cavendish, VT. Emma and Ariel did not have any children together.
When Ariel was five years of age, the family moved to Hanover. He was ever the subject of serious religious impressions and was early inclined to the Christian ministry. Choosing it for his life work he prepared himself for it, beginning to preach in Hanover. HE settled in Woodstock, VT, and afterwards in Salisbury, where he remained four years. After this he came to Cornish in the year 1801. Here he settled and was pastor of the Baptist Church about twenty years. His last years were spent in Cavendish, VT.
