Nell McNab Davenport
Nell McNab Davenport, 83, a resident of Pinckard, AL, went home to be with Jesus on June 11, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday June 15, 2012 at Newton First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Andy Wood, Rev. Terry Howard and Rev. Myrice McNab officiating. Burial will follow in Pinckard Memorial Cemetery with Robert Byrd of Sunset Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Thursday. Mrs. Davenport will be placed into the church one hour prior to the service. Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 2740 Headland Ave., Dothan, AL 36303.
Mrs. Davenport was born on April 12, 1929 in Pinckard, AL to Nuna Dean and Edwin Oree McNab. She lived most of her life in Pinckard and graduated from Newton High School. She was a faithful member of Newton First Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Davenport was preceded in death by her husband, Mancil Davenport, her parents, Edwin and Nuna McNab, four brothers, Dean, Max, Joe McNab of Dothan and Gene McNab of Pinckard and 3 sisters, Iris McKnight of Newton and Lillian McKnight and Kathleen Standifer of Pinckard.
Nell is survived by her three children; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Paul Littlefield of Prattville, AL and Deborah and Louis Camp of Dothan, AL, one son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Kathy Davenport of Dothan, AL; her grandchildren, Brian and Candy Littlefield of Dothan, AL, Scott and Stacy Littlefield of Trussville, AL, Christopher Camp and Charla Camp of Dothan, AL, Karmen Davenport, Lindsey and Britton Hughes of Dothan, AL; her great-grandchildren, Kayla, Kade, Neely, Brody, and Kell Littlefield and Raygan Hughes; her sister Irene Long of Dothan, AL; her brother Fred McNab of Pinckard, AL; two sisters-in-law, Eddie McNab and Mildred McNab.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Littlefield, Scott Littlefield, Christopher Camp, Britton Hughes, Rodney Holland and Ricky Holland.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Gentiva Hospice, the second Floor Nurses of Flowers Hospital, and Dr. Paola Bass for the excellent care of Mrs. Davenport.
