When Mary Rose McKee was born on August 23, 1889, in New York, New York, her father, John McKee, was 34 and her mother, Rose Duffy-McKee, was 19.

Mary married James Vincent Morano on June 7, 1909, in New York, New York. They had seven children in 10 years.

In addition to raising her family, Mary worked as an orderly in a New York City hospital.

Mamie, as Mary was affectionately know to her family, was survived by her beloved husband James, her loving children Gennaro a/k/a Gerry Morano, Rose Agnes Morano-Simonetti and husband Rocco, Mary Rose Morano-DeBrino and husband William, Carmela a/k/a Millie Morano-Laidlaw and husband, Robert, and Alice Morano-Hayes and husband Thomas, as well as her cherished 12 grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two infant sons, John and Peter Morano.

Mamie's daughter Rose Morano-Simonetti's two children, Ralph Simonetti and Rose Frances Simonetti called Mamie - "Queenie" - because Mamie had a dog - a Boston Bull terrier - named Queenie.

She died on April 3, 1948, in Bronx, New York, at the age of 58 of a massive heart attack.

Funeral arrangements were made by A. Ribustello & Son, Inc., Funeral Director, 681 Morris Avenue, Bronx, New York.

A viewing was held on April 4, 1948 at Ribustello & Son, Inc. for family and friends.

Mamie was interred on April 6, 1948 in Calvary Cemetery in Queens, New York.
