Service for Johnny D. Allen, 69, of Whitney will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 14, 2012 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Brent Jones will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tate Terry, Toby Terry, Todd Terry, Mickey Cochran, Jose Robles and Roy Luna. Honorary pallbearers will be Vance Wakeland, Danny Cantrell, Scott Linton, Roger Bellinger, Mark Scott, Bobby Chadwick and Luther Blessing. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Allen passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 in Whitney. He was born December 18, 1942 in Cleburne to Lonnie Sr. and Leona Johnson Allen. He was raised in Cleburne and moved to Whitney in 1964. Patty Brooks Lewing was the love of his life.

Mr. Allen graduated from Cleburne High School in 1961. Johnny worked in the family business, Allen's Feed Store for many years. He worked for Johns Mansville in Cleburne, retiring with 31 years service in 2011. He loved to build motors and race alcohol funny cars, which he did for over 20 years. Everyone came from all around to have him look under their hood or to paint their car. He enjoyed fishing, restoring old cars, cooking out and camping. He loved all his family and many friends. Johnny never knew a stranger and was a friend to all. He lived a good life and laughed every day. Johnny's grandchildren were his pride and joy and he was the best Poppy in the world. He was a member of Field Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Patty, daughter, Shawnee and son-in-law, Frank Molina and two grandsons, Tristan and Spencer Molina, all of Whitney; brother, James Allen of Cleburne; sisters, Rosie Wright, Lena Cochran, and Patsy Terry and her husband, Jimmy, all of Cleburne and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Leona Allen; brothers, Eugene Allen and Lonnie Allen, Jr. and sister, Lou Ella Forsythe-Glass.
