Margaret Hogden, 94, Jamestown, ND, died Monday, March 5, 2007 at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown, ND. Margaret Alice Madden was born April 16, 1912 in Corwin Township, near Ypsilanti, ND, the daughter of Owen and Margaret (Beaumaster) Madden. She was raised in Corwin Township and began her education at the rural Corwin Township School, later attending St John's Academy in Jamestown, ND. On November 12, 1930, she married Lester Hogden in Jamestown and they settled on a farm in Corwin Township. In 1940, they moved to Ypsilanti, ND, and then to Rapid City, SD for a brief time, returning to Ypsilanti in 1942. In 1944, they moved to Jamestown. Margaret began working at the North Dakota State Hospital as a nurse's aide in 1958. After 1 year, she became employed at Trinity Hospital and when Trinity Hospital closed, she worked at Jamestown Hospital. In 1974, she retired from Jamestown Hospital, but continued to work part time as a nurse's aide. She entered Rock of Ages in 2002, moved to Roseadele in 2004 and more recently, moved to Central Dakota Village. Margaret was a member of The Basilica Of St. James and the St. James Tabernacle Society. She enjoyed needlework, word puzzles, card games and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed keeping house and truly loved her work in nursing. She loved her family above all else. Survivors include 7 children: Lloyd (Sharon) Hogden, Lacey, WA; Dave (Marlys) Hogden, Red Bluff, CA; Jeannine (Joe) Skroch, Red Bluff, CA; Marlene (Hari) Dhaliwal, Healdsburg, CA; Kathy (Carlos) Montelaro, Redding, CA; Carol Trautman, Jamestown, ND; Gail (Doug) Gushwa, Pocatello, ID; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 sisters, 3 brothers and 3 grandchildren. Funeral – 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2007 at The Basilica Of St. James, Jamestown, ND. Prayer Service – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND Visitation – Noon to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Monday Interment – Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND Memorials – may be directed to the American Alzheimer's Association, 4550 West 77th Street, Suite 200, Minneapolis, MN 55435
