Arthur G. Lips, 81, of Faribault and more recently of Cannon Falls passed away Saturday evening at the Rice County District One Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church. Interment will take place in the Methodist Memorial Knoll Cemetery at Nerstrand. Visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral home Monday afternoon and evening, Tuesday morning and at the Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church one hour prior to the services Tuesday. Arthur Lips, son of Henry and Amelia Schroeder Lips, was born May 2, 1892, at Wheeling Township, Rice County. He was united in marriage to Bertha Amacher, Nov. 10, 1917 at St. Paul. Lips farmed in Wheeling Township for many years prior to his retirement. He is survived by his son, Elwood Lips of rural Faribault; three daughters, Mrs. James (Majory) Foster of Dana Point, Calif.; Mrs. John (Lorraine) Stanek of Greeley, Colo. and Mrs. Elaine Zimmerman of Cannon Falls; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
