Eura Elsie (Behannon) Bailey was born Jan. 13, 1913 in Jasper, Texas, the daughter of Elonzo and Nancy (Morgan) Behannon. She grew up and attended school in Jasper. Eura was a member of the Bellville Church of Christ, which first met in her home. She owned and operated a beauty shop in Bellville for many years. She enjoyed taking care of others. Eura passed away Monday, July 28, 2008, at the age of 95 in Bellville.
She is survived by her sister, Inez Bass of Porter; grandson, David Bailey of Houston; granddaughter, Kathleen Vande Sande and her husband, Jerry, of Dallas; great-grandson, Blake Bailey; niece, Anna Hunter of Kingwood; nephew, John Bass of Porter; and great-niece, Rebekah Ray and her husband, Brian, of College Station. Also surviving Eura are two of her special friends, Dene Mangham and Doris Lynn.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Travis Bailey; grandson, Bryan Bailey; and brother, Leo C. Behannon.
Pallbearers are Bill Lythe, James Hagan, Hugh Tubbs, Dennis Bailey, Joe Bluemel, and David Johnson.
Funeral service was 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at Bellville Church of Christ, with Charles Wilson officiating. Interment was in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Bellville.
