Carter was born, to the late Eugene and Irene (Morrow) Cannon on April 21, 1941 in Winchester TN. At an early age he moved to Lorain and has been a resident for the past 54 years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, and worked for U.S. Steel. He was a member of Greater Noel Tabernacle COGIC, where he was a very active member. Some of his duties included church trustee, deacon, treasurer and maintenance supervisor just to name a few. Carter enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and at the church. He especially enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and talking about God.
He leaves to mourn in his departure and REJOICE in his home going, his loving wife of 39 years Louise Cannon, daughters: Brenda Tipton, Kathryn Randle, Esther Harris, and Juanita (Tyrone) Harris all of Lorain, Mary Crum of Denmark, S.C., Karen (Keith) Brank of Elyria, and Diane Cannon of Houston, TX. Sons: Anthony Harris of Lorain, and Jason (Dana) Brannon of Noblesville, IN., Grandchildren: Monica (Steven) Reese, Marcus Crum, Matthew Whetzel, Ebony Moore, Domonique Knowles, DarTagnan Knowles, Sherida Harris, Derick Harris, Tyrone Jr., Andrew and Alyssa Brannon, and eight great-grand children. Sisters: Joyce Mason of Lorain, Geraldine Brannon and Claudia Lacy of Elyria, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Carter was preceded in death by his parents: Eugene and Irene (Morrow) Cannon, Sisters: Virginia Ann Allgood, Mildred Baker, and brother Eugene Cannon.
Services will be held at Greater Noel Tabernacle COGIC in Lorain on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. Visitation will be from 10-12 and service will begin at 12 noon. Elder Cleveland Braggins will officiate.
Burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain, Ohio.
