She graduated from Stewartsville High School and attended Cornett Business School.

She is preceded in death by husbands, Marvin Gilbert Gray, to whom she was married 37 years; William E. Turner Jr. and Harry Leigh Peters; twin sons, Ronald Elton Gray and Donald Alton Gray; brother, Hylton St. Clair and sister, Carolyn Foutz.

Dorothy faithfully attended the Church of God at Jordantown. She volunteered for many years at Carilion Hospital and enjoyed visiting the sick and shut-ins. She was very sociable, talking on the phone, traveling with friends on bus tours, and playing Yahtzee. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She shared her home with her poodle, Benji.

Mom was grateful for the special friendships of Betty Crouch and Lewis Housman.
