By Whom Employed: Self, Jacksboro, TN. Dependents: Wife & 4 children under 12. Married. Race: Caucasian. Height: Medium. Build: Stout. Color of Eyes: Blue. Color of Hair: Dark Brown. Date 5 June 1917

Mr. James Franklin Baird, 87, of Route 2, Jacksboro, died Wednesday morning at LaFollette Community Hospital.

He was a member of the Jacksboro First Baptist Church, member of the Men's Adult Sunday School class of the Jacksboro First Baptist Church and former member of the Jacksboro Masonic Lodge No. 322 F & AM. He served as Tax Assessor of Campbell County for two terms and was County and State Highway Superintendent for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth St. John Baird, and two sons, S. Leon Baird and Eacher M. Baird.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nora Baird of Jacksboro; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lorene) Shumate of Clinton; one son, Clyde W. Baird of Clinton; one sister, Mrs. Charlie (Ada) Brown of Jacksboro; step-daughter, Mrs. Rosa Lee Campbell of LaFollette; step-sons, Robert Baird of LaFollette, and Howard Baird of Cincinnati; sister-in-law, Mrs. L.R. Murray of Jellico; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at Jacksboro First Baptist Church by the Rev. George Williams. Burial was in Jacksboro Cemetery.

Walters Funeral Home, LaFollette, was in charge of arrangements.
