Betty Carter Gay, 73, of Franklinton, died Wednesday, November 9, 2011. She was born in Wake County and was the daughter of the late Georgia Inez Laughter Carter and Thomas Henry Carter, Sr. Funeral service were held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, November 11, 2011 at Flat Rock Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Betty is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert E. Gay; daughter, Virginia Gay Alford and husband, Herbby of Youngsville; son, Michael Gay and wife, Sandra of Wake Forest; sister, Patricia Carter of Garner; brothers, Tommy Carter and wife, Jean of Durham and Durwood Carter of Princeton; grandsons, Jeremy Alford of Youngsville and Timothy Alford and wife, Sarah of Louisburg; great-grandchildren, Casey, Sabastian and Jasper.
