William H. Adcock died at ten-thirty o'clock p.m., Saturday, September 24, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Bradley of this city, following an illness of four days. At the time of his death, he was aged 87 years, 8 months, and 18 days.
William H. Adcock, son of Isham and Rachael Adcock, was born April 6, 1845 near Carrollton. His wife, Sarah Jane Adcock preceded him in death eleven years ago, and three sons have also died. He united with Baptist Church when a young man and continued that affiliation until death. He leaves to mourn their loss one siter, Mrs. Lucy Wood; five daughters: Mrs. George Evans of Hollywood California, Mrs. John Bradley of Jerseyville, Mrs. Eli Zink of Grover, Col., Mrs. Clinton Short of Greenville, Ill, and Mrs. George Garrison of Detroit, Michigan and two sons, John Adcock of Carrollton and William Adcock of Niattie, Ill.; also, 28 grandchldren, 24, great grandchildren, and a host of friends & relatives.
