Louise Thurber the second daughter of Walter and Belva (Hill) Ehlers was born April 29, 1922 at Gurley, Nebraska in Cheyenne County. Louise departed this life on Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Rose Brook Care Center in Edgar, Nebraska.

Louise came to Thayer County, Nebraska from Cheyenne County as a small child where she lived until 1947. It was then that Louise was united in marriage to Claude W. Thurber on December 28, 1948 and the couple lived in the Edgar community the remainder of their lives. Louise was loving and devoted, wife, mother and grandmother.

Louise was a member of the Church of the Plains, Edgar; Presbyterian Woman's Club, she had served as Worthy Matron of the Edgar Chapter #135 Order of Eastern Star which later she became a member of the Nelson Chapter #27 Order of Eastern Star.

Louise is preceded in death by: parents, husband Claude Thurber, son Lynn Thurber; brothers Norman, Orrin, Edward and Eugene and sisters; step grandson Tommy.

Survivors are: daughter in law Glenna Ehlers of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren: Michael, David & Stefanie, step son Marvin Thurber and wife Phyllis, and their children: Rick, Greg and Rhonda and a host of relatives and friends.

Interment was in the Edgar Cemetery, Edgar, NE.
