Isadore Kelton, 92, former resident of Carlsbad for 65 years, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 in Cypress (Houston), Texas.


Isadore Kelton was born December 9, 1919 in Brewer Oklahoma to Charles Monroe and Nellie (Craig) Edwards. She started school in Oklahoma and moved to Amhurst, Texas. She met E. S. Kelton and they were married August 4, 1937 in Clovis, NM. They lived in Bisbee, Arizona, Lubbock, Texas, Connecticut, California and in Oklahoma. They moved to Carlsbad in 1945. Isadore worked as a sales clerk at Sears. She worked for Carlsbad Schools in the cafeteria and retired in 1968 due to medical issues. Isadore's hobbies were crafts, baking, quilting and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, E. S. Kelton; two brothers: Holland Edwards and Allen Edwards; two sisters: Aida Edwards and Mary Edwards and grandson, Brandon Kelton.
Survivors are her son, Larry Vance Kelton and wife, Bonnie; grandson, Brent Kelton and wife, Ashley of Cypress, Texas; four great-grandchildren: Riley and Barrett Kelton of Dallas, TX, McCray and Casen Kelton of Cypress, TX and one sister, Maedell Jones of Mesa, Arizona.
