Mr. Godowns was born in Orangeburg, a son of Mrs. Aubrey Clark Godowns and the late Thomas D. Godowns. He was a retired professional fishing guide and dock master in Key Largo, Fla. He was a member of Union United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his mother of Orangeburg; two brothers, Eddie Godowns and wife, Susannah, and Dickie Godowns and wife, Georgette, all of Cope; a sister,Sarah G. Drews of Irmo; and a number of nieces and nephews.
