Shawnee resident Mary Anita Ward, 80, died Wednesday, May 5, in Shawnee.

She was born Dec. 7, 1923, in Raton, N.M., to Adolfo Sandoval and Barbara (Martinez) Sandoval.

On Aug. 7, 1942, she married Doyle Ward in San Diego, Calif.

She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jacob Sandoval.

Survivors include her husband, Doyle Ward, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and James Celcer of McLoud; son and daughter-in-law, James and Jeri Beth Ward of Yukon; sister and brother-in-law, Dahlia and Valentino Pascetti of Oceanside, Calif.; brother, Reuben Sandoval of Raton, N.M.; three granddaughters, Brandy, Christina and Erica; three great-granddaughters; and many other relatives.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, 6465 S. Yale, Suite 423, Tulsa, OK 74136.

Service will be at noon Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church with the Rev. Maurus Jaeb, O.S.B., officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Resthaven Funeral Home is directing arrangements.
